Default fun at the park

after work today i headed straight to the river to see if i could do any better than yesterday. i needed redemption after my brother outfished me 4-0 (all skipjack) on loudon yesterday. i fished white clouser minnows with red eyes, but they weren't your typical clousers. the tiger bass came on one tied with kip tail and the rest were caught on one tied with craft fur. i like the craft fur better and i think the fish agreed. unfortunately i didn't get to keep the kip tail long enough for a fair test... i got excited casting to a big ol carp i had no business trying for and lost it to the tree that jumped out behind me. oh well, heres some subpar pics

i didn't think i'd see one of these until i bought a sinking fly line, so small size aside, this was my favorite. i caught 5 total in the short time i was able to fish in between people walking by (needed room to backcast) and kids running over to talk with me. heard a whole lot of "never seen anyone fly fish here before"

that made me

Looks like you've been redeemed. Nice job with the perch. I didn't realize you had those in Tennessee. If I can find a quiet area I catch them on the fly on the Lakefront in Chicago from time to time.

I have caught them on rooster tails before on a slow deep retrieve, the kind you wonder if you will get the lure back this time. I hear they are really good but he was just about two bites for me... Hopefully I can find some more next week drifting the kayak around there
