Default Troutfest Thank You

For everyone involved with Troutfest this year, I want to say Thank You. Whether you were a donor, attendee, or volunteer, you were instrumental in making this year's Troutfest event a success. For anyone who attended the banquet last night, I hope you enjoyed your evening and thanks again for your support & generosity.

After paying the Hilton catering invoice & tabulating the other marketing expenses, I'm proud to announce that the Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited netted over $20,000 from the Troutfest banquet. As always, these funds will be used to support the Fisheries Department of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as well as fund youth education programs.

One of the highlights of the night was the unveiling of the Steve Moore Youth Education Fund, which was created in honor of the long-time GSMNP Head Fisheries Biologist, Steve Moore. The Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited is proud to announce that we raised roughly $4,500 for this fund at the banquet.

Thanks again to everyone involved in Troutfest this year!

Great Job Joe! Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat with you but you seemed pretty busy. Several people mentioned you were an excellent fisherman and that I should try to hook up with you sometime. I can only guess how much time you spent on this production, and want to give my thanks It felt a little weird for me to get an award when I'm surrounded by others that make my efforts seem small in comparison. I think you, Charlie, Bill, and Mike are the ones that deserved the recognition

$20,000 That's Awesome! For an organization as small as our TU chapter that's incredible.

My compliments to all involved! As I left the event, I walked out with the auctioneer. He told me that he does a lot of charity auctions, but he was extremely impressed with the amount of money raised for the Memorial Education Fund. He actually said he was shocked. This group puts their money where their mouth is, and the huge investment of time and talent shouldn' go unmentioned either. I am proud of our chapter!

Ducky, anyone who volunteers to run 13 miles up a mountain with full provisions should get some kind of award. I will put that trip date on my calendar so as I prepare to go to sleep in my bed, I will silently give your group an approving nod and then drift off to sleep.

Joe and all those un-named that help put together a great venue at Trout Fest, Thank You.

I was impressed with what seemed to be " doing more with less". It was a very classy night and I'm glad I attended.

Ducky, I understand your pursuit of being a part of a "Bigger than your self" endeavor and applaud the award of great distinction!!!

Thank You, for doing something I care about but haven't made the physical time to do something about yet.
