Default Thompson A vises

I have an old Thompson A vise with the flat-nosed jaws, and I am dissatisfied with their lack of hook-holding power. Do the newer Thompson A vises with the adjustable head angle and triangular-shaped jaws hold hooks any better?

Your jaws may be worn out. If so and LRO does not have a replacement set, Joe Fox at http//:www.dettetroutflies.com has a set. You'll have to call him.
