Default Panther creek

I am from Huntsville, AL and I am heading up to the GSMNP this weekend. Has anyone fished panther creek in/near cades cove? I wish to fish some more remote backwaters and this looked like a good place to start. Also, if anyone has any advice on back country fishing, I would welcome any advice. I am planning on packing my gear in a few miles, changing into my waders and then fish.

Thanks for the opportunity to post. I enjoy this site very much and its allot of fun!

If you're going to be in the Cades Cove area, definately fish Abram's Creek. Just be careful there, those rocks are slick!

I like Lynn Camp Prong. I usually hike about a mile to 1.5 miles then start fishing up. To get there you drive up the Middle Prong to the end of the road then take the trail to the left. Be careful not to fish Indian Flats. It is one of the only three brook trout streams that are closed to fishing and it is tributary to Lynn Camp. I fished Indian Flats once by mistake. I caught so many brook trout that I knew I had to be doing something illegal. I later talked to the fisheries biologist and he confirmed that I was in the wrong stream.
