Default Good Flies

I am heading to the Smokies this weekend and I was wondering what flies have been good lately.I know the weenies have been, but what else is working good? I am mainly looking for the good dry flies right now but any that are working well is fine.

I did well Monday night with a size 14 yellow parachute adams. I had a bead head pheasant tail on as a dropper. Most of the time I catch way more fish with the BHPT but I ended up taking it off on Monday because I was getting way more action on the top. Good luck.

I caught 10 decent size rainbows yesterday evening on a #14 tan Elk Hair Caddis.Byron is right on with his fishing report, get as high as you have time for and fish the plunge pools and swift runs. Good luck this weekend but if we get alot of rain before then you make have to change your tactics.

I was up in the park a bit over a month ago and was fishing a dry dropper combo. The dry was a yellow sally and the dropper was a Smoky Mountain Blackbird by Hugh Hartsell. The Balckbird was killing'em all along the middle prong.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to contact Hugh, but he has on occasion posted on this board. I have tried to email him through his site several times but have received no reply, might just be that time of year and that He's awfully busy? If you can contact him, it will be worth the effort!

Thanks for everyone that sent me info on good flies. I will hopefully be able to use some of these flies this next week and catch some bows or even a brookie or brown.

Thanks Again
