Default Cumberland River Flow

I am going to be making my first Cumberland trip sometime soon and have been following the flow data... can anyone tell me what their experience has been fishing higher flows? and if so, what were the flows fished?

Hello,
It has been several years scince I've been up there. If I remember correctly, the flow was around 5-7000 cfs. We only fished from a boat, there was no wading. We attempted to fly fish but wound up using light spinning tackle. Caught fish on rapalas. I have been up there when the flows were much lower and you could wade. Where we could not wade we slipped around in a canoe and picked off some smaller fish on sulhur patterns. This was all above Burkesville. It's a challenge to figure that river out . I have talked to locals who say there is a very good caddis hatch. Hope this helps.

I would be fishing from my boat - a riverpro jet, but it is quite a drive and I would hate to get there and it be completely blown out... right now it is looking like about 9,500cfs...

Thanks for the advice!

Think saltwater sized streamers & sink tips, a lot of work, it can pay off though.
BTW, do you have a link to a River Pro jet boat, i miss my 'ol sled.
