South Middle TN flyfishing areas?

I have family that live outside of McMinnville, TN. Does anyone ever fish the Collins river? I know it flows thru private lands down towards Bersheba Springs.
Is it a trout, smallmouth or warmwater fishery? I know people fish below the dam at Rock Island state park but don't know much about the area myself.

The TWRA stocked it this year in March, April and May, but whether or not it holds over, I don't know. Usually streams they stock in the early spring don't hold over. You can check out their website and it has detailed maps and stocking schedules.

I believe the Collins is listed as one of the top 20 in the state for scenery, access is rather slim, look for bridge crossings.
TWRA stocks a few creeks that run into the Collins, if you can beat the bucket brigade that follows the stocking truck, you might be able to catch a few.
With the price of gas, the Caney or Elk maybe an easier choice, then again, with family in the area, you may have connections, i'd be tight lipped if ya do 8-)

Thanks for the replies. I wondered why no one ever mentioned the Collins. My Sister and Brother-in-law own a nursery in Morrison, Tn and Witty Creek flows through it. It is a Spring Creek that stays about 58 deg. yearound. It flows into the Barron fork river a couple of miles downstream. It is not really deep enough to support a good trout stream. There are are a lot of chubs, hornyheads and a few smallies in the springtime. I usually fish their ponds for bluegill and bass. My father caught a 10 pound largemouth on a Top water plug *down there a few years ago while visiting them. Anyway thanks for the info.

Mountain Creek supposedly has reproducing or an extremely well holdover rate on it, once again, access is the key.

I need to check it out... I mainly fish the Elk River right now, but the TVA website shows alot of great streams with trout that has been stocked.
