Default Bamboo Fly Rod

I'm considering building a bamboo fly rod. Can anyone recommend a definitive work on the subject? Thanks, Perry

Hello Perry,

I purchased a book titled "Fundamentals of Building a Bamboo Fly-Rod" by George E. Maurer and Bernard P. Elser. I have not attempted building one yet so I can't really comment much on the content. It has many illustrations and what appear to be good instructions. There is a book titled "The Lovely Reed" by Jack Howell that is suppose to be very good but it is also quite pricey if you can find one. I suppose there are several publications available on the subject.

LRO may have books on the subject or could order one for you. Please let me know if you build one.

Best Wishes, gary <*))))><
