Default First Dry Fly

Tied lots of Green Weenies and Midges in Alaska this week. *They turned out pretty well, so today I went to LRO and got the stuff to start tying some stimulators. *Cosmeticly I'm very pleased with the flies. *I hope they are durable on the stream. *Here's a pic of my first dry...

Nice fly Kevin. Also, it was nice to meet you at LRO Saturday to finally put a face to the name.

Looking good. Here's where this obsession starts costing you...$$$. When you catch your first one on your own bugs...look out. You will probably return to the bench after each outing that same night to cook up more!

Hey Kevin......it was great to meet ya Saturday & nice looking fly....especially for your first one. *I think I heard one of the guys talking about a fly swap or something like that (maybe Griff or Trevor)...that could be interesting. It is looking like we (up north) may actually be able to get some ice fishing in this year if the cold weather holds on a bit....i'm hoping to try the midges I got from you to intice a few crappie or b-gills...I'll let ya know how it works.......

Congradulations on your newest addiction (I left LRO last saturday after spending $80+ on more tying material)

I enjoyed trading some flies with you, we can do it again next time you are here. When the weather warms up we should hit the river together. That way we can trade lies and flies... See you soon! Kevin

I use them a lot too. I'm tying size 12 for practice, but I use 14's most of the time...

Don't overlook the usefullness of the larger sizes (#10-#12) for the browns. 8-) *I guess those aren't really large stimis but for Tennessee they're pretty good sized...

Nice fly also btw!!!
