Green weenies

Why have green weenies been outlawed in the Park? What about other areas in the mountains? I haven't seen this posted until recently. Please comment, someone!

why just last month I was in the Little River and heard something behind me. O.M.G.......I'm gonna be eat'n by a bear......I was a bit relieved to see it was a Park Ranger......"whatcha doin boy" I heard.....just fishing for trout sir....."whatcha using" I heard.....(with great pride) I showed him the green weenie that Byron teached me to tie.......LOST MY FLY ROD AND REEL, LOT MY EQUIP AND BEEN HERE IN THE LOCK UP SINCE......

Those Green Weenies are bad news....

On a seriuos note Walter Babb made a good point at his fly tying demo. He said flies come and go particularly if overused. He said the Green Weenie is hot right now, but those fish are going to wise up soon because of the amount of pressure the fish are seeing from it. Moderation is the key...

In the beginner's class, Walter noted the same thing, and listed a few other flies that appeared to be hot for a while and have waned. He mentioned that he'd fished GW's in other areas and actually seen trout move to get out of their way.

Hey Buckeye, 92 wasn't in our class, I think he took the class last weekend, the 10th. I sure wish I could take the intermediate class this coming weekend.
