Default 5 Things you never fish without.

Ok so you see it in the magazines. Guides list their top 5 pieces of gear they couldnt live without. So what about yall? List the top 5 things you take with you everytime you go fishing. Im talking bass, bluegill, trout, muskie, carp, whatever you chase w/ a fly
Heres mine:

#1- Polarized Sunglasses- 20 bucks at Bass Pro. Been lookin for another pair but I could get a rod for that price!

#2- My Simms hat- First "fishin" hat I owned, never hit the water w/o it.

#3- Extra tapered leader- one of those things that if you leave it youll need it.

#4- Size 8 black wooly bugger w/ flashabou- Catches anything. Always keep one. Its not really anything but it could be alot of things.

#5- Extra leash for Molly- ....no explanation needed.

(This is in addition to my rod, reel, flies, waders..etc.)

1. got to have my sunglasses. I am miserable without them. Costa Fathoms

2. beadhead prince nymph. The first fly that I ever caught a trout on and also the fly that I have hooked into my biggest fish and the one that I have the most confidence in. Always have a lot of those in various sizes.

3. I almost always have to stop at a store and buy sunflower seeds. Either BBQ or regular salted.

4. I always carry a spare rod with me. I have broken the tip off my first rod when I took a fall one day and had to drive home early just because I didnt have a spare.

5.Camera. I will never go fishing without a camera again because I hate trying to convince my dad that my fish was really this big. Now I just take a picture and then bam no arguement.

All of this plus the standard.

I would have to ditto most all that have been listed....if it is warm weather trip in the Park I would have to put benadryl on this list....those hornets and yellow jackets can ruin a day early and there's more of them than snakes and bears.

1. Rod
2. Reel
3. Line/Leader
4. Tippet
5. Flies

The rest is just a bunch of stuff I've convinced myself I need.
Some of my most favorite days on the water have been the result of the minimalist approach.

i take: 1) 3 or 4 cans of vienna sausage. 2) flask of brandy in case of snake bite, attact by mountain piranha, or reaction to vienna sausages. 3) large amount of charmin in case i hook the big one. 4) hand grenade, in case i don't hook the big one. 5) about 60 pounds of gear i.e. rods, reels, flies, nets, the usual suspects.
