Default Citico Creek

I Was wondering if anybody could give me a good place to start in the Citico area. I have fished good portions of the North & Bald but this will be my first trip fishing the Citico. I saw a couple of campgrounds, but was wondering how many primitive non-fee campsites there were (on a river preferably). I'm not asking for any honey holes, just some general areas on the Citico & it's tribs. Thanks for the help. Matt

Can't remember how many campgrounds on the river but there are a ton of sites between doublecamp and highway 360. Trout begins a Little Citico Creek or thereabouts. Remember there is a daily permit for the main river all the way in to doublecamp area. In the wild sections of North and South Fork of Citico you don't need the permit since it is wild fish water. You really need a good forest service map in order to orient yourself. The main river is full of people most of the time due to heavy stocking. It's a nice place though. Good Luck
