Fishing the Tellico River

I hate to be the "downer" but I just wanted to give you a heads-up.

Auto-break-ins have been on an uprise in the Tellico / Bald river areas. I'm not one to casually spread rumors but evidently it got so bad that American Angler even made mention of it in last Summer's issue.

I've fished the area 3-4 times over the last 2 seasons, and never encountered any problems, however I've spoken to close friends who have had rods and cameras stolen. My strategy has always been to carry wallet, keys, rods, and all other valuables in a pack and leave your truck doors unlocked; it might save your window. Don't try that stashing your keys under the bumper trick.
