Default Hiwassee 3-11-07

Arrived at the picnic area around 11:00 w/ still 2 turbines flow. Worked the shoals with little luck. Managed one 9" bow on #18 hares ear dropper. A decent brown stonefly hatch came off around 1:00 but went unnoticed.
Moved up river after 3:00 and things changed. Bout four a heavy brown caddis hatch brought many fish to the surface. By 5:00 or so the first BWO hatch I have seen this season came off. Not real heavy but was noticed! I was havin so much fun I didnt keep track but must have caught around 14 fish, most small but did bring one to hand that was 15" & healthy.

Wind was still a factor at times, Still a great day to be on the water!!!

Wink

Sounds like the evening was fun!

Hans was under the weather, so we didn't make the trip this week. Crazy weather always seems good during the week and unpredictable for the weekends.

Just another average Spring in Tennessee I suppose.
