Evenin' everyone,
I have been lurking around the boards for a while and thought it was about time to sign up and join in the conversations. Kevin (REDC4MAN) introduced me to LRO last year. Been fly fishing on but mostly off since I was about 9. Used to do a lot of fly fishing for pan fish back in the day w/ my dad. Now Kevin has turned me on to trout fishing up in the park. Done a lot of fishing a little bit of everywhere but never really focused on any one type. Don't get to fish as often as I would like, but then who does? Can't wait to get my feet wet again. Currently looking for a new setup for this year since I found my 5 wt to be a little too much for most of the streams in the park. Interesting note, check out the May edition of Fly Fisherman magazine. Good article in there about the park and a gentleman named "Hans". I know of him from Kevin but have yet to meet him but look forward to the day I finally do. |

Welcome aboard! Since you're wanting a new rod, if you haven't checked 'em out I would recommend you look at the new Orvis Superfine rods. They are not like the old ones but are SWEET rods nonetheless. I cast one at LRO and it is perfect for the mountain streams.

I have used both the Orvis Superfine (which my father-in-law owns) and the TFO Finesse. I prefer the TFO's and they are a fraction of the price. In the end it is all about your personal preference.
