can any one help me with a crawfish pattern on the basic design of a clouser minnow?

Bob Clouser designed a crawfish pattern. www.clouserflyfishing.com He has two different patterns. I think they are too stiff and don't have very much natural action. I purchased a standard clouser pattern using a deep orange belly and brown back. Never done very well with it. Lead eye brown bugger patterns have always worked better for me and with a few extra modifications,(bushier hackle and rubber legs) they work pretty well as a crawfish substitute.
