Thumbs up Nice Job !!

Seeing those pictures reminded me of the benefits of repetition. The repetitive process of tying sixteen flies of the same pattern (good ones that is) consecutively really helped me iron-out the kinks...Come to think of it, in doing so, I actually stumbled on to some better techniques. I guess the fly swap gave me a reason to finally sit down and focus, versus just "messing around" at the vice.

Anyway, I just wanted to compliment all participants on a job well done. I was happy to be a part of it.

Rainshaker, I agree that participating in swaps really helps improve my tying skills. Thanks to all who participated, I'm sure we all learned a little something from the effort. The sets went out in yesterday's mail so they should be showing up in your mailboxes soon. Please post on here or shoot me a PM to let me know when they arrive. Hopefully the mailmen will not decide to go fishing with them and actually deliver them.

Griff,

Received the flies today. They look good. Now it is just up to me to catch the fish. Thanks for moderating the swap and I look forward to the next one.

Hey Griff,

Thanks for organizing the swap. Thanks to all of you involved in the tying also. Are any of you going to Troutfest or the cookout? Looking forward to meeting you all!

Griff, received my set of flies today. Thanks to everyone. Maybe we should do a terrestrial or late summer pattern swap for the next one. I like tying beetles and big hopper patterns!, or maybe a favorite streamer pattern for this fall..........Troutman

got my flies in the mail yeasterday, look great!!!!! Guess I may just have to try them this weekend. Counting down the hours till I get to jump on I75 and head south, drop stuff off at cabin, visit LRO to get my bamboo for brookies ticket and then GET INTO THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to try this fly swap again, it was great practice and it helps to see what others are doing....

hope to meet lots of the message board members.....

Buckeye,

Drive safe and good luck this weekend with the fish. The rain we had today should help some. Unfotunately, work has me driving the opposite direction.

I think most of us that participated in the swap are looking forward to another one. Summer is always hard though. I would rather be fishing than tying when the temp is this good and the fish are hitting flies on top.

Again drive safe,

Brad
