Hey folks,
I'm just wondering how often you clean and/or replace your fly line. I bought a RIO selective trout line and completely wore it out in about 1 year of use. On average I fish about once a week. I know that I should clean my line more often but for the most part I take pretty good care of it. Maybe 1 year is about right for that amount of use, but I was hoping to get 2 years out of it. How about the rest of you? |

That sounds about right. I probably fish 60-90 days a year and usually have to replace my lines about once a year. Some of the new ones have started to last a little longer though. Just look for small hairline cracks and replace the line when you start to see them. Keeping them clean will help increase the preformance of the line, but it really doesn't do much to extend the life of the line.
