Default Fly choices.....

I have not not been on the river in over a month, but if I had to guess......... I would think some tan caddis in #16 or 14, yellow is a good choice too, parachute adams or some b.w.o.'s in #16 or 14, I hear sulphurs are present at times, probably most when they are generating. There should be some isonychias as well. Nymphs......p.t.'s, prince nymphs, hare ear....same size as above.........these usually always produce here.

Above poster is right. I saw tan caddis last saturday as well as sporadic sulphur duns and some yellow stones. I had pretty good success with a BH Prince with a Partridge & Yellow tied in on the hook bend, or a Czech nymph with a Partridge & Yellow tied in. I took an even amount on both. The emerger got me the most strikes though. If the water is as cold as last Saturday i would fish on the swing the old wet fly fishing method. Down and across and let it swing.

You would love that river. I hate for it to be so far to go for me. I'm busy on a TU project this saturday or I would have gone down the Hiwassee way. Good Luck.
