Default a look at the park

got conned into going to the car show in PF---the crowds were suffocating--early morning--grabbed truck and drove to the park by way of townsend--was shocked to see the streams--you were not kidding---the water was down ---almost stagnent looking in places---saw some trash on a bank at tremont---it was depressing---mama nature usually takes care of all this--she will give us rain and snow---the streams will flow again---hopefully she is vengeful and will shoot litterers----

I made the mistake this past April, on my way to Cosby Creek, to go through Pigeon Drop - I didn't know about the car show that happened to be going on that weekend. It took me an hour to go one mile - made rush hour seem pleasant by comparison. I'll never understand why people, who probably battle traffic every work day, go on vacation only to...sit in traffic.

Two years ago in November, She Who Must Be Obeyed said "I need to go to Gatlinburg to buy taffy for a friend for Christmas". This was while we were sitting in the Bass Pro parking lot at about 3PM. I think it was about 6:35 by the time we parked in Gatlinburg.

Come to find out, the co-worker hated taffy. Gosh how I hate Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg traffic.

Never understood the facination with either taffy or the PF car shows. Much prefer the quiet side of the Smokies. Just makes me sick how PF is creeping into Wears Valley.

You laugh, but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens some day, although I'm sure the businesses would fight that move. The problem is, of course, the fact that there is only one road leading in to that area. What was needed was some planning, some forethought, but that isn't very common anywhere. Now, it's very difficult to come up with a solution. I'm hoping the areas outside of that corridor don't start getting built up the same way.

Amen. I second that. And it should be kept really secret, and have a FOV lane for anyone travelling with atleast one fly rod in the car, and have gas stations with free gas paid for by a new tax on tourist dollars in pf/g burg. just a though.
