Hey to all. I think there may have been a thread like this last year, but i was just wondering what y'all were hoping santa would bring you (fishing related, of course) or maybe what you're buying yourself for christmas?
I've pretty much already gotten my christmas when i brought that new rod trimmed with sharkskin line, but i'm hoping that i might........errr, santa might have enough money left in the wallet for a gps unit. Sure would come in handy when i do all them backcountry trips. Will have to see how things settle out when i finish buying all those christmas presents. Craig

Badlands 2200 backpack. It will be used for backcountry brookie trips and spike camp deer hunting.

My wife couldn't wait until Christmas to open her gifts so we had "early Christmas" this year
![]() She got clothes. (BORING!) She got me 3 new fly boxes: Orvis Small Watershed Compartment box, Orvis Watershed Large Compartment/Dropper Rig box and a Orvis Dropper Rig box with 5 dropper rig sections. The wife and I are flying out to Montana to be with family for 3 weeks during Christmas so that will be my best gift this year. |

I second what kytroutman is wishing for. It doesn't seem that Santa would have a hard time getting that down the chimney.
UofMontanaAlum, I am glad you are getting to spend time with family at home. I know you miss home. I hope you have a very nostalgic trip. Really, I wish for good health so I can fish, a good year for my two sons and my wife, and that God will continue to bless me as He has in the past. I hope He blesses all of you as well.

I agree with Don,
I hope the Lord continues to bless my family. He has blessed me beyond all reasonable expectations. My wife and I have been happily married for 25 years and are looking forward to the next 25 years. My son (age 12) still loves me and likes to fish with dad. I have reasonably good health and have the disposable income to buy a new toy every once in a while. I have a church where I can serve and I have my faith. There is nothing more in this life that I really need. Yes, there's a lot of stuff I want and if a new 7wt 9' rod were to show up under the tree, I would not object, nor would I find it offensive if a new Fishpond vest or a couple boxes of guitar strings or some new bluegrass CD's were to be strategically placed around the base of our tree (hint) But as for need, I have everything I need and the way I look at it, Santa comes everyday. The only thing I want is to have more time off to fish!
