Default What leader?

What size, and length leader are you using for the smaller streams, like treemont?

Considers the amount of water, If the water is low and the fish are real spooky 9' #6, if there is more current I will go to a 9' #5.

I almost always use a 7.5 ft 6x in the park.

Generally, I use a 7.5 foot leader in either 4x or 5x depending on water conditions. Tailwaters I use a 9 or 10 foot 5x or 6x.

I use a furled leader, and usually 6x tippet (about 3ft), although lately I've gone as light as 8x.

I've gotta say, I'm really surprised at how many of you are using 6x...I might have to try it out and see if I catch more fish... I mainly fish a 7.5' to 9' leader tapered to 4x or 5x tippet. The 6x is left for the dropper...

I probably use the heaviest tippets of anyone on here (that is fishing the Smokies). I despise having to go to 5x. I do probably 20% 3x, 75% 4x, and 5% 5x and 6x. The smaller the stream, the less it matters. And usually my tippet is around 9', although I'll go all the way to about 6' in micro-waters.

I use about a 8-10' pc of blue Stren. You can find it in tangled up in the rhodo bushes in just about any good hole along Little River Rd . Hard to get it untagled some times, but the price is right and I catch plenty of fish with it
