CWT in North GA

You might be asking what the heck is CWT? Well for those of us that suffer from Arthritis or just Cabin Fever or in my case recovering from Knee Surgery and all the above CWT is short for Cold Water Therapy. Got the opportunity to go fish a few small streams with two great friends and even had Sunday paid as early Christmas! Wooohooo Thanks buddy!

Those are some great looking fish! Look at the girth. Come to think of it I am showing signs of early arthritis, maybe I should look into that CWT thing too.

Thanks everyone. I had a great time and we saw so many fish even though the water was low. Gin Clear! Lost some giants that literally tail walked across the river and jumped falls downstream. With recovering knee surgery made it difficult to chase down fish that got me into my backing.

Truly an awesome fishery there at the Soque' river.


CWT made me forget about my arthritis! But some of those dang rocks still jump up and get ya. Made for hard day on the knee. But ready to go do it all over again.

One of the things my friend Steve an I talk about is how there is an unwritten rule between fly fishing buddies that one never really reveals the information on his favorite spots. I am not saying that fishermen would ever lie or stretch the truth , they just withhold enough information to preserve the "honey hole". Would it be inappropriate or in poor taste to ask where that is?

Glad you were able to get out. I had a bad knee injury in 1998 - screws and wire type; so, I certainly can relate. It looks like your therapy is going well!!!

I'm from Toccoa and never even heard of this because I just took up fly fishing a couple of years ago. All my family still live in Toccoa and I go home often. Looks like I have some homework to do before I go home for x-mas! Thanks for the report...

hey Kevin.....good to see you out there, been doing any fishing or is work getting in the way. Did you ever have a chance to try those glass bead head green weenies I'm taking the intermidiate and advanced classes first of the year and can't wait to learn more from Walter. I just purchased the Orvis CFO II Trout Bum limited edition from LRO(you can see it on orvis under the CFO reels) and plan on matching it to a 8' 4wt trout bum rod.....can't wait to try that out.....

Didn't fish much this summer because of the drought. When I did I usually hit a tailwater. I still believe those weenies will work. Hopefully this rain will continue and the fishing will be better next year. When I catch one on one of those I will post it. Maybe we could go together in the spring and give it a try.
