just thought I'd join in. Didn't want to be a lurker. I'm a Hoosier that only gets to fish once a year, usually during spring break. I'm a teacher, so if I'm good I can fish over the summer. I've only fished in the Smokies, but I love it. I think about it all year and by this time of the year I can't wait until the end of March.

Welcome.
Just wondering what is your teaching background. Do you have the opportunity to introduce some of your students to fly fishing? The sport needs as many new people as possible. |

I live in Southern Indiana, roughly 40 minutes North of Evansville. I teach art for 7-12 grades. Around here, there ain't much flyfishin' that goes on! I try to get people interested, but to no avail.
I just fell in love with the Smokies as a kid while on vacation. I always wanted to flycast in the streams, and now that I've experienced it...It's awesome. People think I'm crazy to love catching fish under a foot, but there's more to it than the size of the fish! |
