Bear and Boar Hunt - Photos by Byron Begley

In October I was invited on a boar and bear hunt near here.  We hunted two days.  Several handlers turned their hounds loose in the area we were hunting.  We could hear a chase often and hounds almost constantly. One person in our group killed a wild boar shown above and another shot a bear.  It was a fun and fascinating weekend as I was given the opportunity to enjoy a true East Tennessee tradition. A group of hunters have been meeting here and stayed at the cabin where we stayed, for the bear and boar hunt, for three generations. I don’t have a story yet, just some photos. Most importantly to me, I made a lot of new friends and found an outdoor activity that I want to continue to pursue. I can't think of anything that tastes better than fresh wild boar cooked on the grill. It was awesome!
