Fishpond Cloudburst Gear Bag


The Fishpond Cloudburst Gear Bag is something I finally bought and use. I think it is the best boat bag I have ever seen. You can see the photos of mine below. First and foremost are those gunwale hooks. When I saw those, I was sold. As you can see, my bag hangs on the side of the boat, off the floor and there is no sliding around or bending over.

There is plenty of room in the divided and moveable partitions for all of my fly boxes. Fishpond calls it a “Padded Interior Divider System with Velcro® Attachments”. To keep things simple, I secure the flies that I will be using on the fold-down foam fly bench. If I need something out of the boxes, they are right there.

The Fishpond Cloudburst Gear Bag is loaded with features. It has 10 external pockets and 20 interior pockets, more than you will need. There is a “Zip-out” waterproof cover in case it rains. The cover offers 100% coverage. The bottom is the Fishpond Molded Bottom you see on other gear bags they make. The Cloudburst bag has adjustable rod tube straps with “Sticky Rubber” to secure the rod tubes. There are two side air mesh pockets. Getting from the truck to the dock is easy with the handy carry handle and adjustable shoulder strap. All the zippers are oversized and heavy duty.

The Cloudburst is the best. I would recommend it to anyone who fishes in a boat or canoe. Note: The Gunwale Hooks are not large enough for some bass boats or any boat with wide gunwales.
