Scientific Anglers Lefty Kreh Signature Weight Forward Fly Line
The Scientific Anglers Lefty Kreh Signature Series Fly Line costs $39.95. I am personally going to write about this fly line for several reasons. One reason is, Lefty Kreh is a friend of mine. This line does not have all the bells and whistles or Mastery high tech features created in the Scientific Anglers lab in recent years that make their fly lines perform exceptionally well. There is no ASI, Dry Tip Technology, Textured Surface, Streamlined Loops or AS ID, advances that really work. Our profit margin is lower on this line than on other SA lines. So without all the hype and the fact that our percentage profit is low on this fly line, why is it here?
It is here because we sell the heck out of the Lefty Kreh Signature Line from Scientific Anglers, more than any other fly line in units sold last year. I wanted to find out why. I know one reason is, it costs $39.95. So I asked Scientific Anglers to give me some to try out. I use them for smallmouth bass and bluegill fishing. They are pretty darned good lines. You won’t cast a mile with them. You have to use a nail knot to tie on a leader. But other than that, these are pretty good fly lines, especially for the money. I kept the lines SA gave me. I still use them. They are not my favorite lines but they work fine for some of the fishing I do.
So, if you are on a budget and trying to save some money, give one of these fly lines a try. Also, for the fishing we do in the Smokies, where distance casting is not required, they work fine.
