Orvis Hydros Redfish Weight Forward Fly Line

The Orvis Hydros Redfish fly line is a floating line designed to work from a boat or while wading for redfish. The Redfish line has a short, heavy compact head that aids in making quick accurate deliveries. The moderate front taper turns over the leader and fly easily.

The Orvis braided monofilament core holds up to hot, humid weather and offers maximum loop control and shooting ability.

The Hydros Redfish fly line has the new and improved Wonderline Coating. Orvis’ latest generation of Wonderline coating is 20% slicker than the previous generation, resulting in the slickest fly lines on the market. The Hydros Redfish line casts farther with less effort and produces higher line speeds to cut through the wind and improve accuracy. Wonderline coated fly lines repel dirt and grime and pick up off the water easier. These coatings improve floatation, and reduce tangles. Wonderline is an Orvis exclusive, patented process applied at their facility in Manchester, VT.

The Orvis Hydros Redfish line includes the Orvis Line ID. You can quickly and easily identify your line, no more guessing. Lines are printed with the taper, weight and functionality.

Orvis Hydros Redfish lines feature a enhanced welded loop on the front of the line. This makes leader attachment quick and easy while holding up to repeated use. The loop also helps to transfer energy more efficiently to the leader allowing better turnover.

Orvis saltwater lines have rear loops for attaching the line to the backing.

Orvis’ new paper pulp line spool is made from recycled cardboard and kraft paper, is 100% compostable and further enhances Orvis’ commitment to protect our natural resources.
