Mr. Rapidan Parachute

The Mr. Rapidan Parachute is a version of the original Mr. Rapidan, designed by Harry Murray. This fly excels in U.S. Eastern trout streams and probably out West too. The tan body color matches many late Spring through Summer mayflies that you will see on freestone streams.

Mr. Rapidan or the parachute version has always been a very productive fly in the Great Smoky Mountains. The yellow post makes visibility much easier for the fly fisherman. Seeing your fly is of utmost importance to success. You can easily see the Mr. Rapidan Parachute fly on dimly lit streams. This fly works well for rainbow, brook and brown trout in the Southern Appalachians and most Eastern U.S. trout streams.
