Townsend, Tennessee - Fly Fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, East Tennessee and Western North Carolina

Welcome to the Fishing Report. Rain is falling here in Townsend. Nothing hard, just light showers. I checked the rain gauge earlier and there was barely a trace from last night.

Water levels are actually almost down to "normal" this morning. The streamflow gauge is giving a reading of 1.80 feet or 148 c.f.s. This is just a little higher than the normal flow of 120 c.f.s. Tremont will get muddy this morning as road dust washes off the trees and into the stream but that should clear quickly.

If you head out while it is raining start with nymphs. As it starts to dry out dries should be doing well. There was a little yellow stonefly on the window by the front door this morning.

I am going to have to cut the report short as we just realized that the wonderful phone system isn't working again. Hopefully they'll get that resolved quick. Off to try to fix that.

Byron will be back at the helm tomorrow. Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
