Stole this idea from another board, but here goes anyway, post pics of your dog(s). Pics on boats or in water get bonus points.

My oldest "Jenkins." He's our substitute butler, but I can't get him to bring me anything but his toys:

My wife's dog "Roscoe" (already named when we got him). My wife loves this little turd. He looks mean, but unless you are breaking into the house or car, he's cool:

My wife brought this little Dorkie (Daschund/ Yorkshire) home almost 5 years ago as a pup. She is the first inside the house and little dog I've ever owned. I've always had labs and goldens. Her name is Salsa and is such a good little dog. She walks with me to the door as I leave for work everyday and greets me with such enthusiasm when I return. She hates cats, squirrels, rabbits and cows!
She loves to swim in the lake but as you can see, not very fond of the cold mtn water!

Troutman, I didn't think they allowed dogs in the wather in the park? I would love to take mine, if it were allowed.

We take her camping, at elkmont and smokemont but not hiking and this picture was taken next to our campsite on the river. I see nothing that says they cannot get in the water but are supposed to be leashed at all times. She was taken off the leash to see if she would jump in the water after a stick in this picture. The swimming picture was on Douglas lake.

If this offends anyone, I'll remove my post.

Not offended, just trying to figure out how to get in on the action! My dog loves water. Well, my lab does.

I love the Idea of this thread. I have no children so my dogs are like our kids and they bring us lots of joy. I will try and get some photos of mine together and post them soon.

mine don't care about fish....but she sure hates a coon...

These are two of my favorite little friends. Mckensie Sage and Madison River. They may not fish but they really try to help when I tie flies. LOL.

Good stuff guys. Keep 'em comin'.

Here is my kid 'Dodger'...

02-06-2010, 11:24 AM

Ginger still needs a home guys. I've got her leashed trained pretty darn good. She does well in her crate and has not messed in the house once. Not gotten into anything either and we have started leaving her alone in the house for short periods of time.

She would make a great dog for someone. We just work too much, I work 9 hour shifts at the store and have a 45min commute on each end of that. So basically I'm gone for at least 11 hours each day and if you add errands on to that it makes 12 or 13 hours. My wife is a social worker and works a lot of late nights, transportting foster kids and doing home visits.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas and feel free to call at work at (865) 774-4162 Thanks.

My new pup Samson. Gonna have to teach him to fish soon I guess.

02-08-2010, 09:29 AM
This is my pup, Moose. He's about 110 pounds of pure puppy. He's not much on fishing, but loves to go for a ride or a walk. It can be pretty funny to see the reaction some people have to him when we go for a walk. I've seen people cross to the other side of the street to get away from him, even though he's on a leash and on heel. In reality, unless they were a threat, about the only thing he will do is beg for attention.

(This is my first time posting a pic, I think I followed Ms Paula's instructions correctly, but if it doesn't work, I'll redo it.)

Gertie, my fine fish retriever. If you drop one in the boat, get your feet out of the way!

Bailey, my 6 year old lab.

This is my fishing partner Annabelle. We're not sure exactly what she is, but she looks like some sort of collie. She is a great fishing partner when I'm alone in the mountains (not in the park).
Here she is waiting on me to fish a pool on the bald river.

She is getting old though, and gets tuckered out after a long day in the moutains.

I've taken her to the clinch, when fishing private property or remote access and she is always with me when I'm alone in the mountains....If you see her, she is very friendly and I'll be nearby, so come say hi.

Plenty. Backcountry and Frontcountry.

I have my Y2K puppy. He's been a good buddy for 10 years now. He's getting old on me, but Boudreaux still likes to play like he was a puppy.

My girl Hazel who is named after a little creek I like.

02-10-2010, 09:09 AM
Elkins, thats a great picture of you and hazel.

Thanks - we had worked our tails off for that bird...I look a little rough.

This is Butter - 2 years old. Where's my treat, Dad? She loves the water but hasn't made it to a fishing trip yet...just duck hunting so far. I don't think I'd get alot of fishing in if I took her!

Semi-action photo...I think she sees a deer. She runs after them but they don't ever want to play!

This is my girl Belle.

Nice looking dog. Were those pictures taken in East Tennessee?

02-11-2010, 10:21 PM
JoelO - that first photo is terrific.

highstick- very nice.

02-12-2010, 09:42 AM
This here is my other mutt Avett. He is a great backpacking partner, but I would never take him fishing (reason shown in the 2nd picture). He can flat out ruin a good fishing hole. He cares not about water temperature and has been known to swim the entire width of the clinch weir pool chasing a duck.

02-12-2010, 10:20 AM
Here is a photo of my old Lab Zeke. He died about this time of the year three years ago. He was a good companion.

Yes both pictures where right here around Knoxville. The number of grouse in that picture was a fluke. But man was I proud.

Well here goes. These are listed in order they were acquired:

From the Humane Society, they said she was a pointer mix. Wrong!

From the Humane Society, border collie mix. Pretty close.

Found in a box, full grown, on someone's door step. My best bud.

Rescued from a full time worker/student/party goer that had her in a crate for 22+ hours a day.

Rescued from the street with a litter of puppies. This is a rare moment when she is actually calm.

Here they all are in their natural habitat.

gmreeves - that is a great family photo at the end. Do they allow you in there?

Here is my girl Loki. I like how all of the labs are either in water or already wet.
