Well on my bucket list was a trip to Canada for King Salmon. Our little group I tie flies for went up to the Garden River for a week on the Ojibwa Indian Reservation called First Nation. We went in through Sault Saint Marie, Ontario and drove over and man, we had a blast. We were in the temporary camp of Don Matthews, a guy known as being a steelhead guide in Ohio. We were up there the last full week of September this year (2014) and had what they call an "Indian Summer" so the weather was very pleasant and I wore short sleeves more than I expected to. http://http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg1.jpg On the cooler days, yes I had my Little River Outfitter hat on so we were represented well from Tennessee![IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg2.jpg (http://s739.photobucket.com/user/harrycphotobucket/media/imagejpg2.jpg.html) Yeah, I know, this is one of the worst shots of a fish you've ever seen but I had fought this bad boy for probably 20 minutes and I was tuckered out!

Most of the Chinooks or Kings were in the 12-15 lb range with several in the 20 and 25 lb range. http://http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg3.jpg[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg3.jpg (http://s739.photobucket.com/user/harrycphotobucket/media/imagejpg3.jpg.html)We also caught a few Pinooks which are a cross between a Pink Salmon and a Chinook....gorgeous fish with unique barring. And we caught a ton of Pink Salmon as they were spawning this year. The pinks do this spawning every other year I'm told. We had lots of bald eagles, some wolves (from a distance) and black bears. It was the most fun fishing I've ever had. And the scenery was awesome.

Here are a few pics. We enjoyed it so much, we are planning on going back for next year!http://http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg2.jpg[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg1-1.jpg (http://s739.photobucket.com/user/harrycphotobucket/media/imagejpg1-1.jpg.html)[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg4.jpg (http://s739.photobucket.com/user/harrycphotobucket/media/imagejpg4.jpg.html)http://http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg4.jpg[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg1.jpg (http://s739.photobucket.com/user/harrycphotobucket/media/imagejpg1.jpg.html) http://[IMG]http://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx38/harrycphotobucket/imagejpg1-1.jpg
