Ekaneetlee is busier than the island or big walnut (think that name's right, don't have a map with me) Otherwise I don't think it's a bad spot.

It's not devoid of fish. Maybe took a beating but droughts happen and trout are resilient.
Ok I misunderstood the camp and rod tube part. Don't blame ya for not steppin on toes, might have even saved your own.
That place is always an adventure. Not always fun, but definitely a story to...
I'm a day late and a dollar short but yes, those are a good start. The usual nymphs, PT, hares ear, weenies etc. I might also have some orange stimmies as well, just in case
Yep. I didn't land a single trout above the falls this year. It's a tough stream on a normal day, but I think last years drought hit them hard. It will recover in time. You should have tried below...
Lakeshore trail turns toward hazel creek before reaching ekaneetlee creek. If there are horses in that camp, they aren't supposed to be there. I wouldn't worry about staying at ekaneetlee except it...
I fished in the morning before the eclipse but not during nor after. The trout didn't seem too excited about the impending event, they just wanted to eat.
Good call jay. I rarely end up fishing delayed harvest streams, etc, so it wasn't even on my radar. I'll try not to slip like that again.
Open year round. I dont know of anywhere in state it isn't...
Thanks man.
Since there isn't a dedicated off topic sub forum, and it's related to the smokies, I hope this is the appropriate place for my question. If not do what you gotta, just prefer you don't tar and...
Both chimney tops and road prong trails are closed. The stream along 441 is open.
I bet! I know a duck will. Wonder how he knows.....
I dislike Rio leaders but that's what my local shop mostly carries. Anything else is hit or miss
That single tail trout magnet isn't so crazy now is it, techno?
I talked to a ranger about that very same thing a few years back. Most soft plastics are scented, which was covered above.
And were getting back to something I've mentioned before, getting your...
I second both of these. I use lightweight hiking shoes (Merrill or comparable shoe)and a trekking pole these days.
Good to hear. This past weekend I fished an old fav of mine that I usually do pretty good there. I was rewarded with two brookies, both around 3 inches, in 3 hours. The last time I tried before that...
I can totally buy that Grampus. When I took my daughter to midnight hole a few years back, the trout were feeding just a couple of feet away from the swimmers.
You're not wrong about that. I've not extended him an invite since...
I know someone who did exactly this when he lost the green weenie I gave him. He used a baitholder instead of the little jig hook. He also cut one of the"tails" off. It worked.
I don't see why it wouldn't work. Be prepared to have your pockets turned inside out, and possibly your car too. Even if it's obvious you are not using bait.
Cool beans man. Maybe I should have asked for clarification. No hard feelins.
No leg work involved. I called somebody I know, who knows a guy running a shuttle. It literally took less effort than it took to type that asinine response.
I called that little shop in knoxville. They gave me this guy.
Kyle.
