The TN side is pretty one dimensional, i.e. Little River. Yes, way more traffic on this side. Other drainages that are more remote and get less traffic are on the other side, IMHO.
To post pics I...
Another thing about Abrams, rainbows only. No browns or brookies there. If you want brookies, it is elevation you should seek.
I have gotten several grand slams but all on the NC side. IMHO, the...
It’s been years since I fished the Horseshoe, you do know there’s actually two, the little and the big? Both pretty much take all day but especially the big horseshoe. The reason for not being able...
Thanks for the info.
I hate to hear this.
I know it is early and who knows what this year may bring, but does anyone know if this will happen this year?
My copy arrived yesterday. Started on it last night. Lots of recognizable places. Good read.
Just ordered my copy. Can’t wait!
I was down there in Tellico when all of that was going on. It was going on because the GSMNP was completely shut down. That was THE only place to go.
I have been in the Park since before it...
Just as pretty much always, if you get off the beaten path and/or hike in a bit the fishing is no more crowded now than in the last few years.
Remember too that most of the visitors concentrate...
I would recommend you go to Amazon and do a search for these and then read the reviews.
I have had a set of sheets made of micro fiber and was not impressed. The feel was weird and they did not...
Not enough detail to determine, but what fly(s) were you using? Time of day? Water level? How stealthy are you?
I have never used a fishing guide, but have used several hunting guides over the years. Some good, some bad.
My advice in obtaining a "good" guide would be for the client to contact the guide...
That's eerie that one made that much eye contact.
Other than the one time I had with passing a bear, I have never had any other encounters there and I have fished that stretch of river probably...
More often than not, there are those temporary signs at the trailhead there in Elkmont warning of bear activity.
About 3 years ago or so, I was fishing up Little River and happened on a big pile...

If so, it says both animals were killed at that time. And there was only 1 cub...
This forum is not capable of PM's. The threads are coming off in places as I am sure the finish is thin. It is a glass rod if that matters.
I still have my father's Browning Silaflex rod. Overall it is in okay condition with the exception of the wraps. Does anyone know someone locally that could do this? I have no idea what the cost may...
Thanks for that video. I have the Airflo Galloup nymph line to throw double nymph indicator rigs and it is a great line. Throws them like a laser and the distance you can get is really good. I highly...
You might be on to something with that. I had forgotten about that attack but AFAIK that bear was never located.
Thanks for all of that info, Joe!!!
My father with a streamer rod?LOL You know that answer!
When I first started many years ago, his comment was, "if it doesn't hit a thunderhead or female...
Thanks for the info.
As to how deep, just a guess, but anywhere from 3-5 feet. It is looking like a sinking line is most likely in order but I want to see what others may be using. There are so...
Very new to the streamer game. I am looking for suggestions/recommendations for a streamer fly line for a fast action 8 weight 9’ rod.
This will be a dedicated rig for the Clinch and Holston,...
Any results?
My take on that is that if you are keeping the fish, once you possess your limit, you're done. Keeps someone from "culling" fish if in fact they are keeping them.
