Now that's a nice fish...
Really nice brown. Those don't come along very often.
My father had an English Setter that hung around the place. He was always running the fence rows looking for quail. He died at my uncle's farm doing that very thing.
Thanks, Bran. Almost got her to pass gun dog on her first run at it. Needs just a bit more work.
Thanks, Lauxier.
Thanks, Buzz. The funny thing about this fish is that he got bigger as he got closer. It's usually the other way around for me. Maybe it was the clouds...
I've found that being quiet, and the slower pace due to a stealthy approach, helps me catch more fish, especially if I actually wade, instead of roll casting from the bank. A stealthy approach helps...
Thanks, fellas. A good day for me.
Nice and cloudy today, so I decided to hit one of my favorite runs in hopes of a nice brown...I was rewarded nicely for my efforts. Days like these make nice memories.

I think there is a Knoxville pet adoption page on Facebook.
Buzz, you're very welcome.
Hero, between Metcalf and Milsaps Bottoms. Later I'll go higher, once the weather warms up.
I only caught a few. A better fisherman could have caught a dozen. The hatch started around 2:00pm and ended around 4:00pm. It was truly amazing dry fly fishing.

He's all for anything that seems "fair" even if it breaks a century long agreement.
Nice fish David.
Thanks, Tree
Thanks, Scott. I had a good weekend.
Thanks, yeah it wasn't easy to get him in on my 6wt. The current was a little bit strong too.
Another from that trip:

No, not a native, but still a nice fish from the Smokies.
Best of the year for me...measured out at 22"
Caught on the NC side.

Definitely hire a guide...I struggled for 2 years because of refusing to hire one. They can get you to catching fish right away and take you to the best spots. I recommend David Knapp or Ian...
No idea...just know he didn't want to talk.
He seemed to not want to talk.
I caught a fish.
