The Echo Gecko rod a couple of other guys mentions falls within those specifications as well. I'm sure it would be fine if she would prefer something like that rod.

Orvis, Echo, Reddington, Temple Fork etc just about all have kits that include rod, line, and reel for that price. I think something in the 7' to 8' length that cast a 4 or 5 wt line would be fine...
