Default How many states/countries have you fly-fished?

The other day I decided to add catching at least one fish on a fly in every state of the USA, plus at least 5 foreign countries, to my bucket list. In the 5 years since I started fly fishing, I've already got 6 states under my belt (Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas) and have plans to add at least 3 more this summer (Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana to start, maybe more).

So, how many have you got on your life list? Bonus points to the person with the most exotic location for a successful fly fishing trip.

Ooh, tarpon fishing in Aruba...I like that! Buzz takes an early lead for exotic location.

    Default States

I have fished in 17 states. I keep a map that I have color coded for visits and fishing. I have not fished outside the country.

I don't live just to fish, but I want to fish just as long as I live.

Interesting. After traveling and fishing the same rivers last year I decided every year to try some new streams or rivers. In looking at my log I have fished for trout, salmon or steelhead in 30 different rivers or streams. This has been in 7 states. Ohio, Maine, Tenn., Montana, Wyoming, Pa. and Michigan. I have made a list for this year and have hope to fish at least 6 new rivers and add 3 new states. I would really like to try some saltwater fishing this year. I guess the biggest trip on my bucket list, at least right now, is a trip to Argentina.

So, flyman01, you've fished all the way up the Rocky Mountains from Mexico to Canada without crossing either border, plus everywhere around Virginia, but never Virginia itself? Is there a story there, or just lack of opportunity? Regardless, it's a pretty impressive list. But so far Donwinn is in the lead for sheer number.

And for those of you with Wyoming and Montana, did you visit both via Yellowstone NP, or did you go somewhere else besides?
