Default Tonight-Knoxville-Fly Fishing Film Tour 2015

Tonight, if you are in the Knoxville area the Fly Fishing Film Tour 2015 is in town at the Relix Theater 1208 N Central St, Knoxville, TN 37917. If you are familiar where the old St. Mary's hospital is off Baxter you are close. The event starts at 7:00 PM, but many come early and go to Central Flats Brewery, conveniently next door for dinner or appetizers before or after. They have graciously given us an area to promote and display Trout Unlimited at the Relix, so if you are a member or looking to become a member of Trout Unlimited come on out and join us for a great evening. There will be members from all three chapters in this area, Great Smoky Mountain, Clinch River, and Little River chapters, to answer your questions or sign you up for membership. In addition, we will have Troutfest 2015 tickets available or you may purchase online at http://troutfest.org/

The money from admission tonight is being donated to the Legacy Park Foundation, a non-profit in Knoxville. their web page at the link below can tell you more about their mission: http://www.legacyparks.org/

They do great work with conservation, land conservancy, and promoting the outdoor lifestyle in E. Tennessee. If memory serves me they were involved recently with the new access area on the Holston, so help support their work in our area by coming out. This event draws a large crowd and is a great way to see an outdoor fly fishing film, and hang out with friends, family and talk fishing. There is usually a drawing for prizes and a fun night with purpose, stop by the TU table and say hello!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night and also stopped by our TU table to say hello!
A great way to end a rainy day and cold night with a fly fishing film that makes you want to cast and mend right then. Combine that with good friends and a cold one and that's my kind of Friday night. I am always amazed by the diversity of people I meet at these events and it's part of what keeps me coming back. I talked last night to everyone from company CEO's, veterans from every branch of the military, families with their kids, and everybody in between. The common bond being of course fishing but the bigger picture are people who love the outdoors and care about it being there for the generations to come after us!

Have to give a shout out to a few folks, Carol and Ellen with the Legacy Parks Foundation, whose last night's ticket proceeds went to. This is a group doing big things in E. Tennessee and I had been wanting to meet them. In addition to all they do in Knoxville they are also working to improve access on the Holston. I look forward to working with them in the future. I also finally got to meet Captain Todd Gregory of Towee boats, another great story of local success out of McMinnville, TN. I look forward to also working with him in the future. Here is a link to their web page: http://toweemarine.com/
Of course have to give a thanks to our sponsors of the evening, and the Relix theater another of many local businesses that support community events.

I was having such a good time talking to people I forgot to take pictures but realized at the end and got one. Here is a shot of Joe Hatton of the Little River chapter working at our display. Hat's off to him, he had to work today, remember Joe I was laughing with you!
