    Default Rod Grip Size

My fiance has arthritis so her fingers hurt her often. She asked if there was anyway to increase the diameter of the grip on her fly rod. She loves the rod (especially because it is pink) and would like to keep it if possible. I suggested she try fishing gloves. Any other suggestions? Anything to overwrap the current grip?

What about the stuff they use to wrap tennis racket grips?

Or, depending on how thick, closed cell pipe insulation?

I would go to Academy for the racket material and try Lowes for pipe insulation.

    Just a thought.

Find a rod builder if you want to stay with cork, two ways of doing, if there is a stripping guide it will have to be removed to install a full grip or the rings can be cut in half, reglued individually & put back on.
Personally, i'd go with the first option.

You may also like to have her try a different shaped grip. Maybe a full wells instead of the cigar shape grip most rods tend to have.
