    Default Morning on the Clinch

I haven't seen or heard much from the Clinch River lately. I was able to paddle around and fish before the generators cut on this morning. I'm still no where close to figuring this river out but hooked into a few this AM. The past 2 trips I had multiple break-offs. I came better prepared today.

I also had an impromptu lesson in drag management with this fella -

Nice fish! Looks like he's been eating stripers.

That's a really good looking fish and I'm glad you had nice morning. It's amazing how well the slot has worked.

in the future you might avoid laying fish in the floor of the boat if you plan on releasing them to fight another day. It removes their slime and could lead to their demise

Don't take the above as me slamming you as I'm not, just offering some advice that may benefit the fish we all love to catch

waterwolf - Advice noted. No "slam" or offense taken. The rest of the fish caught that day were handled with wet hands, unhooked, and promptly returned to the drink. This pig was a handful...'er more than a handful...for me so netting and unhooking in the boat was all I could come up with at the time. AND it was the only fish that got it's picture taken that day.

b_winchel - I didn't tape it but it was definitely sub-20"...18"-ish I'd say, but with the girth of Peter Griffin.

Pig indeed. The small head with that huge girth is an indication of how much food is available to these fish now....incredible. You can't help but wonder what these fish will look like next year. Could 4x be the standard tippett ? I believe this year, I have seen more broken tippetts and straightened hooks than I can remember.

I appreciate the honesty on length.
I've seen a lot of huge exaggerations of fish length on this board.
    Nice fish!
