    Default West Prong BC18 2/20/16

A little over a year ago I was in UT Medical Center with congestive heart failure. This weekend my son and I hiked into BC18 and stayed the night, hiking out Sunday. To say it was difficult for me to make the hike would be an understatement. But by the grace of God and my son's help it was a great trip.

I have had a bit of a dry spell catching anything in the park. But I have never been more excited to catch a minnow as I was Saturday when I caught my first backcountry brookie! After losing some flies in the rocks, I also caught a nice 7 in brookie. Since fishing wasn't the focus of my trip I was delighted to catch anything at all.

It's all good, all the more reason to get back out there and get that brook.

Thanks for the post, glad to see you had a great day with family and caught fish! Double bonus, ....triple bonus according to where you were a year ago!
Your tag line says you have the correct attitude...here's to more days on the water!

I am a fisherman for life. I will always be a fisherman. Itís not something I do, it is who I am. Fishing is not an escape. It is where I belong, where Iím supposed to be. It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and I will show others. When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will fish together.

Congrats on your trip and the catch! I'm chompin' at the bit to get down there again soon.

Great choice for a site. I was with a group at 18 the first weekend last October when there was all of that rain. Thank goodness we had a mind to pack some tarps.
