    Default Trip to Arizona

Went to AZ last week for a vacation. We saw the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest and other wonders. It was a great trip. I got to get out on the water for a couple of hours after some wild trout. I fished Oak Creek Canyon which is between Sedona and Flagstaff. It is a beautiful place. They stock the lower portion of the canyon, but where I fished it is wild trout. Here are a few pics of my trip.
This is part of Oak Creek Canyon. The views were incredible

A lot of interesting trees and rock formations.

    A promising looking run

It was a great trip. The fishing lasted about two hours before getting chased off the stream by a thunder storm. These fish are as quick as Smoky Mountain trout!

Arizona is such a cool place. I didn't get to fish, but was there last year and it was nothing like I expected.

Awesome pics and thanks for sharing.

Lived there for a year back in '98 and '99 in Cave Creek (north of Phoenix) and liked it for the most part. This was long before I started flyfishing, but I do know where Oak Creek is. I usually headed for the Payson area when I sought cooler country. Not as long a drive as Flagstaff (although not as cool either because of altitude) but I loved the crazy highway going there.

    Default Beautiful Place

    Dances with trout,

I have fished in the canyon there a couple of times. It is a beautiful place. I hope to go back again some day. Did you drive all the way through the canyon? There are some great views from the top as you drive out.

    Nice fish too!

I don't live just to fish, but I want to fish just as long as I live.

We drove through the canyon on the first day from Sedona to Flagstaff as we were staying in Flagstaff. We came back down through the canyon on Saturday so I could fish. This was near an area called Banjo Bill. It was a great trip!

Hey, I've been there! Beautiful area. I was leaving the CA high desert and went 10 over to 17 then up to I-40 for the drive back to Virginia. I sure wish I could have fished some of that water, looks really nice. Congrats on a successful trip!!
