They have all, in my experience, taken a lot of work. I've never really had that perfect bird dog, my Dad had his, he said, in a setter, when he was young. He always told me that was one
of the worst things that could have happened as he was never satisfied with any other dog again. I did have a lab, my duck retriever, Ben, that was an awesome example of that breed. I had
went through several before him that became pets, but he was easy, and smart, and took right to making me look like a fool. Lol. I love the GSP's, they're my favorite, but I grew up around mostly
English Setters, and Pointers.

My father had an English Setter that hung around the place. He was always running the fence rows looking for quail. He died at my uncle's farm doing that very thing.
