    Default The Feather Thief

Has anyone read this book? I received it as a gift and I have to say that it is great. Without going into great detail, the book is about a young man who robbed the Tring Museum in London of hundreds of rare and exotic bird feathers and skins. It also goes into the history of explorers in the mid 1800's who went on several expeditions to collect such feathers and skins. A very interesting read, especially for fly tiers and fly fisher persons.

Interesting story, it just adds to the obscenity of the cost of Salmon fly materials. I love looking at them, but I'm not about to invest a $100 to tie a couple of flies to look at.
