    Default Caney

Can anyone advise if the Caney is fishing ok? Been awhile since I have been down there and was planning on making a day trip next week. Talking to a friend of mine the other day and he said he heard it was not fishing well and I might be better served to go another direction. It is a bit of a drive for me so I want to make sure the drive (3 hours) is worth it.

    Thanks in advance.

Not worth it...poor water quality has combined with a ridiculous number of striped bass to seriously harm the number of trout and their current health. I wouldn't bother until winter at the earliest and expect low densities of fish until next spring.

I couldn't even catch a striper when i went. And the amount of pleasure paddlers should be illegal. I didnt think a river could be worse than the clinch but that one is close
