Preferred way of Fly Fishing the Mountains

Rather relaxing day today so 2 Threads from me. What is your preferred way of Fly Fishing the Mountains?
1. Drive, stop and fish
2. Hike-in and fish
3. Hike in camp and fish

All the above depending on time of year as well as many other variables. I always enjoy my backpacking trips but don’t get to go as often as I would like.

I'm with David. It depends on what I want. Sometimes simply driving to a spot is nice, sometimes a walk is needed for where I want to fish. Sometimes a camp is good to get away and focus on an area to fish. Nothing like a campfire by the sound of a creek.....

I love 2 and 3 for the solitude, but I have found that if you know where to do it, number 1 can get you some nice fish.
