Tenkara is a simplified method of fly fishing, developed over 100 years ago in Japan. The rods are about 24” long, but extend to lengths of 8’ 10” to over 14 feet long. The fly line is tied to the rod. There is not actual fly reel. A piece of tippet is tied to the line, then the fly is attached. That’s about all there is to it.

Tenkara is the simplest method of fly fishing in the world. It’s perfect for beginners, children or seasoned anglers who desire a very effective way to fly fish for trout or other fish.
