Getting Started
On a Budget
Entering the wonderful sport of fly fishing can be a little scary to some people. There is some very expensive equipment out there and if a person who is new to the sport looks at $700 fly rods, $400 waders and $600 reels it can make a potential customer shy away with sticker shock. This article shows you how to get into the sport with good tackle but at a lower cost.

Lefty Casting
Basic Dry Flies
By Lefty Kreh
Lefty's approach to fly selection is simplified in this article. He has fished for trout all over the world and knows the subject of dry flies very well. This is interesting reading expecially for those who believe the fly pattern is the most important reason people catch trout when it actually may not be.

Slickrock Creek
Slickrock
By Gary McCown
Gary gave us some articles that he wrote years ago. We found this story to be very interesting. He writes about Slickrock Creek, backpacking with his good friend Richard who many of us know and about Richard's fly fishing skill which we also know about. If anyone fishes Slickrock Creek you will enjoy this read. Gary will be a frequent contributor to the Little River Journal.

Simms Packs
Simms Headwaters
Chest & Backpack System
This system is made of of two separate components, the Headwaters Chest Pack and the Headwaters Daypack. These can be purchased and used separately however the combination of the two is a design and fly fishing gear masterpiece. The chestpack docks on the back of the pack for the hike into the backcountry. Then, you can move it to the front for easy access while you are fishing. Why didn't someone think of this before? Daniel thought of it but nobody would listen. You can get it now and this is a very high quality chestpack/backpack system.
