Welcome to the Fishing Report from Townsend, Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains. At 4:57 am, the temperature is 52.7 degrees.
It will be mostly sunny today with a high temperature in the mid-50’s, falling to the mid to upper 30’s tonight. No rain is predicted this weekend. It will be sunny to partly sunny each day with high temperatures around 60 degrees.
Rainfall over the past two days amounted to 2.27 inches in Townsend. Streams levels rose quickly.

Rivers in the Smokies are flowing too high to safely wade.
Lowland rivers are flowing very high, and not safe to wade.
TVA and the Corps will be generating at most dams today. I did see some breaks in the generation schedule at some. Visit the TVA website from the links below to view your tailwater fishing options.
This is not an ideal lake fishing day. The wind is predicted to be from the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts to 20 miles per hour.
The rain is over, the streams are flowing very high, and I don’t know exactly when you will be able to wade and fish in the Smokies. The rivers are receding.
Watch for a gauge reading of 2.5 feet in Little River at the USGS gauge site in Townsend. At that level, the river is flowing on the high side of good. You may find some fishable streams tomorrow or Sunday but I would not plan to go today.
Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
