The wind is picking up right now, and that will continue throughout the day. Strong winds are possible in the higher elevations, up to 70 miles per hour.
Showers are likely tonight before tapering off tomorrow. Rain is not predicted to be heavy tonight. It will be mostly cloudy tomorrow with a high temperature in the upper 40’s falling to the low 30’s at night.

Lowland rivers are flowing very high and rising.
TVA and the Corps of Engineers appear to be holding back water in the secondary impoundments. There are breaks in the generation schedules at many dams I checked this morning. Visit the TVA website from the links below to see what options you have to fish a tailwater. I hope you can work something out. It has been a while!
Tailwater fishing will be your best choice today. It is very windy. If you are boating that may be an issue to consider.
US Highway 441, Newfound Gap Road is closed due to the high wind warning. Other roads in the Smokies may close today due to downed trees. This is not a good day to be visiting the Park.
Have a great day and thank you for being here with us.
